Connect Codex CLI to GeneFoundry

Before you begin

Add the endpoint below, then sign in in your browser when prompted.

Install Codex CLI and complete its account setup.

Add GeneFoundry

Run the two commands below to add GeneFoundry and start OAuth login.
Complete the browser sign-in, then return to Codex and try an example prompt.

Sign in

Complete the browser sign-in requested by your client. Return to the client to continue.

Check the connection

Ask the client to use GeneFoundry to look up HNF1B in gnomAD. Expand its tool activity to check the call and returned record.

A successful copy does not confirm a connection.

Troubleshooting

A saved server configuration is separate from successful authorization. Check both before retrying discovery.
Do not carry OAuth flags from another client or an older recipe into your configuration without checking your installed CLI help.

Hosted sign-in and upstream API keys are different requirements. If you run the router or a source integration yourself, check its repository for backend credentials and configuration.
